"Her still life derives from the artist's ability to see and capture the beauty and variety of both natural and man made objects. These she recreates, with an understanding of space and placing, crystallising the pauses of daily rhythms and quiet moments of domestic life, loved objects and surroundings. Rachel presents the world we see around and outside of ourselves, also mirroring the contrasts and complexities of life beneath the surface."
